Triumph's brands victory

1 of 1

Triumph Motorcycles has been awarded ‘British Brand of the Year’ at The Walpole British Excellence Awards 2004.

It follows hot on the heels of the Rocket III being named the 2004 MCN Machine of the Year in our annual awards and Triumph claiming the Manufacturer of the Year title, too.

The prestigious Walpole marketing award is given to the British brand that has made the biggest impact in terms of sales, service and exposure in 2004. Landrover and Burberry are among the previous winners.

A spokesman for the awards said: “The Triumph brand has undergone a huge internal review over the past 18 months under the leadership of Commercial Director Tue Mantoni (previously with management consultants McKinsey & Co).”

Tue Mantoni said: “This is obviously a great honour for Triumph and an important stamp of approval for our recently launched re-branding strategy. The award is a tribute to the Triumph employees who have worked hard over the past couple of years to transform Triumph from a niche player to a serious bike manufacturer competing on the world stage”.

The moves have been intended to make Triumph more relevant to a younger, contemporary audience.
