Deals on chart toppers

Honda’s CBR125R was Britain’s biggest selling bike in January. The success of the sporty learner-legal bike has got to be good news for motorcycling.

But if you can’t muster the price of buying one new, are used ones becoming available?

The CBR125R isn’t the only good news going on in the bike market. While scooter sales may be down a little, motorcycle sales are up. The supersport and the adventure sport (giant trailies and the like) sectors are the fastest growing. Take the scooters and 125s out of the top-sellers list and BMW’s R1200GS becomes the third biggest seller (behind Honda’s Blade and Suzuki’s GSX-R600).

The GS remains much in demand new – keeping used prices at a premium – £8250 is the lowest currently in our Bikes For Sale. Widen your search to include the R1150GS and you can choose from more than 50 from as little as £4250.

The current (for January) biggest selling big bike, the CBR1000RR Blade, is filtering through as a used buy too. We’ve found private sales with prices starting at £7295. for the 04 bike.
