EU's new crash research

1 of 1

The biggest European project to research bike crashes has been launched by the European Union.

The £1.75 million project will look into the causes of bike crashes, using computer simulations to work out the exact cause of a range of accidents. It will also be considering technology to prevent the accidents from happening in the first place.

It will also research safety equipment including helmet design. Called MYMOSA (MotorcYcle and MOtorcyclist SAfety), the research has been commissioned by the European Transport Safety Council.

It has already created a consortium of universities, research institutes and companies – including Dainese – to cooperate in the project.
