Your specials: Bike 5: Craig Pearce’s Honda CBR600F Sport.

I’d already owned a CBR600FT and found it to be a good bike to ride, so I decided to buy the newer sports version. I spent about £5000 buying the bike, and then about £5000 more on doing it up.

I was banned from driving last August for 6 months for speeding, so I decided it was the best time to strip my bike down and buy some new parts. First, I started with the engine. It was set up with a K&N air filter and crankcase breather, and then an Akrapovic Full Titanium Evolution system and a Power Commander 3 usb.

Next came the wheels. I bought a set of Dymags and put some Avon tyres on them, followed by the Galfer Wavey discs and pads. I thought the standard callipers looked out of place so i bought some callipers for a CBR 600 RR just so the colour would match the wheels. Then I fitted the gold talon rear sprocket, and Goodridge stainless steel hoses.

To tame the bikes twitchyness under harsh riding I fitted an Ohlins steering damper. Next I tinkered with the body work. I lined the inside of the fairing with heat proof tape to stop it warping from the heat off the exhaust system. Then i bought my undertray, which was the hardest part to fit! I needed to chop down the rear fender and solder all the wiring together so the job was done properly. I then purchased a King Carbon rear hugger and front mud guard to replace the standard parts. Then added the iridium windshield and the front lens cover.

To keep it safe I then got a Datatool System 3 alarm and imobiliser fitted and Smart Water marking system. All together it has taken me 6 month to get it all done and running. Now all i need to do is wait to get my licence back so i can try out my bike. Cheers to Darren and Kev of Newsham Motorcycles for helping me with my bike.
