Thief caught by crasher

Thieves who stole a motorcycle that had been involved in a crash were spotted by the rider who crashed it as he was being driven home from hospital.

Police have refused to name the 21-year-old rider, who had collided with a Mercedes van in Leamington earlier, but say that the rider had been told the bike had been stolen when a friend went to retrieve it for him whilst he was being treated in hospital.

The owner later retrieved the bike from a supermarket carpark.
