Arctic circle trip

Last August 35 of us rode from England (one guy joining us from Spain) on 25 bikes (or thereabouts) to the Arctic Circle in Norway. Taking the ferry from Newcastle to Kristiansand we then rode to Oslo and across to Sweden. After this we headed northwards to Umea.

We then rode west to Mo-I-Rana in the north of Norway. On this section of road 15 miles was under repair coverd in stones, some of it quite deep! Close to our destination, the evening spent listening to local history around a fire in a Tipi driking coffee with raindeer meat in it!

Next morning we all rode up to the Arctic Circle where the weather was hotter than usual for the time of year. It was great to arrive. There was still a lot of fantastic riding ahead on the E6 southwards, both road and views are stunning. With many tunnels and ferrys further south.

This was a wonderful trip to be part of. Organised by Fask Trak – raising money for Hope House at the same time. Most of us also rode the Trolls Pass.
