Cafe Racer 999

1 of 1

This is what happens when bike tuners living a hippy dream get their hands on a Ducati 999 – the Steffano Cafe9.

The built-to-order bikes are created by hand by Robert Steffano in his California workshop, using a stock Ducati 999 as a basis, with bespoke carbon fibre bodywork and the maddest exhaust system ever seen.

The bike’s lightweight design means it tips the scales at just 170kg, while the stock 999 engine gives 140bhp.

Prices are yet to be set, but Designer Steffano hopes to build a run of the bikes, and is looking for dealers and customers.

Read more about it in next week’s MCN, available from Wednesday, January 31, 2007.
