Road-tax on high-capacity motorcycles up by £2

The rate of Vehicle Excise Duty (road tax) for motorcycles of 601cc and over has increased by £2 to £66, a spokesman for the Treasury has confirmed.

The change is part of Government policy to increase the amount of road tax paid by the most highly-polluting vehicles, and is only slightly above inflation, the spokesman said.
