BMW problems

Having seen several letters recently about BMW reliability, I thought I would share my experiences.

I bought a new K1200S in June 2006,I didn’t mind paying a premium as I thought I was getting lots of technology, build quality and reliability, I found the bike to be quick and comfortable and have been very pleased.

Then when the bike was 20 months old, it failed to start on two occasions having been checked by BMW and passed fit, it has failed on three more occasions since.

Now with 9000 miles on the clock the gear box has failed, jumping in and out of gear under hard acceleration. While the problem was being sorted issues with the steering came to light which had to be rectified.

I have now lost all confidence in the bike. I was really looking forward to the new K1300S due out shortly, but this is one brand loyal customer just about to jump ship and put a deposit on a new ZZR 1400
