Discrimination against bikers!

Somerfield Petrol Station discriminates against bikers! Somerfield petrol station at Solstice Services on the A303 in Wiltshire has published a notice on all pumps demanding that helmets are removed prior to fuel being dispensed.

Whilst some may argue that this is a good move to prohibit the increasing drive off thefts, they target only bikers and no other shady characters in hoodies or hats trying to disguise their identity and intent. Another example of discrimination against the biking fraternity where it appears one rule is not for all.

Chris Sherlock from Somerfield rebutted initial concerns and the response ‘Re:Crash Helmuts’ is perhaps a further slur on our community. He states, ‘Under the terms of our Petroleum Licence we are required to ensure that all potential customers are over 16 years of age which is why we ask motorcyclists to remove their crash helmuts.’ – which is why, with attention to detail like that, the posted notice is bound to upset bikers.
