Thousands of MCN readers made Skegness rock at the end-of-season MCN Live! bash last weekend.

The Las Vegas themed weekend at Butlins was full of non-stop live entertainment, amazing stunt shows and partying to a wide spread of live music to satisfy all tastes.

Three different venues held tributes to Blondie, Queen, The Blues Brothers, AC/DC and U2 plus 1980s disco and the all-night dance DJs at Jumpin Jaks’ nightclub. New for October were the UK Legends featuring Steve Hutch and Martin Bland from The Animals, Graham Hunter from Eric Bells Thin Lizzy, Bernie Lowery from the Sounds of Smokey and Ade Evans from Chris Reas band.

Daring daytime activities showed Terry Grant’s jaw-dropping stunts accompanied by two-wheeled stunt supremo Mattie Griffin.  Jason Finn’s amazing freestyler trials skills with BMX bikes were also part of the live performances alongside the Extreme Globes ‘Iron Cage’ whick shook from speeds reaching over 70 km/h.

The free dyno testing made a welcome return and loads of power junkies queued up to see what their bike is really making. Another Butlins first was the Vertical Trix wheelie simulator which constantly had a queue as wannabe stunters lined up to try their hand at some safe, controlled one-wheel action.

Saturday evening’s Skeg Vegas party hour within the Skyline Pavilion saw live music from Sinatra and Elvis impersonators, casinos, dancing girls and a prize draw. Four fabulous prizes were on offer with Lesley Bellamy winning the star prize, a place on the best of the west tour USA 13 day tour with toursareus.co.uk worth over £3000!
