A quiet ride to North Wales, not quite

1 of 1

I thought we would have a quiet little ride out to wales sunday, JESUS!

Where did everyone come from?  I was on my zzr and my mate on his brand new Aprilla ( He needed a run out to run in the 1st 1000miles) joined the m54 at wolverhampton to get on to the A5.

From the start there was bikes everywhere and by the time we got into Llangollen there was wall to wall bikes. Up to the pondersa with little kids waving and even a group of older citizens shall we say clapping everyone up to the horse shoe pass – I felt like a star! never been up the horseshoe before ( every time I’ve been to llangollen its been awful weather) and how stunning is it up there!

I waved to the nice police man with his speed camera on the way up – he waved back and to be fair he was only doing his job and with everyone tootling up at 30mph he looked a bit depressed.

I got ion the car park at the ponderosa at about 11 then just marvelled at the amount of bikes. The helpful staff who pointed out that there should have been more on the shift but couldn’t make it up the hill in their cars because of the amount of bikes!

I decided not to carry on to swallow falls because of getting back so went round the back to wrexham and down the a41 to wolverhampton.

What great day and hello to the knob in the white nissan skyline that I am sure quite a few encountered on the A5 coming down towards langollen. I am sure your car is very fast and you had a lovely dustbin exhaust but most bikes are much faster and can get through smaller gaps, so that is probably the reason you are still stuck on traffic on the A5!
