Japanese tuning houses Mugen and Moriwaki have already managed to get their hands on the new Honda CBR250R to give it a performance and styling makeover.
Both Mugen and Moriwaki were set-up in the early 1970s – Mugen by the son of Honda founder Soichiro, and Moriwaki by Mamoru Moriwaki (the husband of one of Pops Yoshimura's daughters).
Mugen started by tuning and racing Honda motocross bikes before moving into car racing and then road bikes and endurance racing. The close link with Honda remains to this day. Moriwaki started in 1973 but began tuning road and road racing bikes immediately.
Mugen Honda CBR250R
The Mugen version of the CBR250R gets a complete makeover in the traditional colours of the Mugen company which always does a black and red paint scheme on its bikes. Other changes include a Mugen stainless steel exhaust which gives a small power increase, a red Alcantara seat cover and wheel stripes. It also gets black rearsets, a number of Mugen styling parts like the alloy oil filler cap and crash bungs along with an iridium coated windscreen.
Moriwaki Honda CBR250R
The Moriwaki version of the CBR250R gets much the same treatment as the Mugen bike with a full paintjob in Moriwaki racing colours, full stainless exhaust system and rearsets.
