Briggo’s bike up for auction

1 of 1

Speedway legend Barry Briggs’ Yamaha WR250R is to be auctioned as the original buyer wants to help raise even more money for injured riders.

Throughout 2010, Briggo visited every UK speedway track to raise money for injured speedway riders. By selling 100 raffle tickets for £100 each he raised £10,000 from the bike that carried him around the UK during his fundraising spree.

Raffle winner James Easter said:

“Frankly I do not deserve the prize. The bike is now a collectors’ piece and should be enjoyed by someone who has the time and love of biking to make the most of it.

I intend auctioning the bike and re-donating the money back to Briggo to enhance his extremely worthwhile charity.”

Briggo’s ride has so far generated £69,000.
