Aaron Slight to race at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

Published: 02 June 2010

Awesome Kiwi WSB axe-murderer Aaron Slight will ride a Castrol Honda RC45 at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The 13-time WSB race winner and arch Foggy-baiter will razz up the hill clad in the leathers and livery evocative of a golden age of superbike racing.

He says: “It has been 10years since I rode a Castrol Honda and I can't wait to smoke up the hill at Goodwood this year.

"The Festival of Speed is a great event that I’ve always wanted to do, so I would like to thank Mick Loughlin for providing the bike and Goodwood for inviting me to be among the greats and be part of this prestigious event.”

Will Kinsman, Motorsport Competitions Manager at Goodwood adds: "It's really great news to know that Aaron Slight will be attending this year's Festival of Speed. The event is all about getting iconic riders and bikes together and Aaron on a Castrol Honda RC45 really fits the bill.

"He was hugely popular with fans in the UK during his racing days in the World Superbike Championship with his epic battles with Carl Fogarty and Scot Russell amongst others and I know he will be very warmly welcomed by the hugely enthusiastic and knowledgeable Goodwood audience."

As well as amassing 87 WSB podiums, Slight is also the only rider to win the Suzuka 8 Hours race in three successive years in succession (1993-1995).
