Spy shots: Touch-screen multi-mode suspension Fireblade spied

1 of 2

MCN’s spies have struck gold – ‘the original gold’ in fact – capturing this unique Fireblade with Multistrada-beating multi-mode suspension.

The development mule was spotted near the Swedish HQ of pre-eminent suspension firm Ohlins – architects of Ducati’s rapturously-received DES riding mode system on the new Multistrada 1200 S.

Unlike the Multistrada however, the Fireblade’s electronically-adjusted forks and shock are operated by a completely new touch-screen interface. It’s also the first time electronic suspension has been fitted to a road-going superbike.

Noriyuki Haga raced a similar set-up to a double win in the Vallelunga round of WSB in 2008 – prompting the FIM into a hasty ban.

You can get all the info, see the touch-screen and close up-close shots of the Fireblade’s game-changing suspension in Wednesday’s MCN (9 June).
