"Elvis Day" hits Harley exhibit

Britain’s biggest ever Harley exhibit marked the anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death this week, with a day dedicated to the King.

Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) hosted the event, where a display of 35 historic Harley-Davidsons is currently on show.

Discounted ticket prices were offered for customers dressed as Elvis, with live tribute bands playing alongside a 1956 Harley KH, the same model 885cc twin Presley once owned himself.

Show organiser Chris Scott told MCN: “It was a cracking day at the exhibition, and the Elvis theme brought loads of people through the door. Many of them weren’t bikers and were blown away at the different bikes. Hopefully it will stimulate enough interest for them to think about getting a motorcycle.”

The ‘Customising, Culture & Harley-Davidson’ show will be running until September, with new exhibits – including the brand new Destiny Cycles ‘Rose Tattoo’ – still to be added. £2 raffle tickets are also being sold to win a brand new 883R Sportster.
