Another council looks likely to scrap free roadside motorcycle parking after London’s Westminster took the step.
A parking policy review has recommended the introduction of charges to park in motorcycle bays in Camden, North London.
The document says other boroughs including Hackney and Islington are interested in doing the same.
Campaign group No to Bike Parking Tax warned roadside motorcycle parking charges would spread across the country after Westminster introduced them in 2008.
Camden’s review says the council needs to ‘restrain demand’ for motorcycles because of their contribution to pollution.
A council spokeswoman said any charge was unlikely to be introduced this year.
NBPT’s Warren Djanogly said: “If you thought that Westminster Council’s motorcycle parking charge would never apply to you, think again.”
