Panniers with a personal touch

Sick of the homogenised, mass-produced world? Welding genius Roger Munsey has put his 27 years of experience to good use in setting up Ard Cases, his own bespoke hard luggage firm.

All his luggage is hand-built from 2-2.5mm thick alloy plate, powder-coated and fully Tig-welded to do away with leaky, rattly rivets. There’s a rubber gasket seal, rubber feet, and even handy handles/lashing points on the lids.

The panniers start from £375 per pair, and that includes a fitting kit. A topbox will cost from £200, and is said to accommodate a full-face helmet.

The firm also sells a number of useful adventure accessories, including fuel bottles and soft, inner pannier bags.
