You Ask/You Answer: When is it ok to give other riders advice?

1 of 1

“There is a rider in my area who I see out often with pillions, he is fully kitted out with helmet, gloves, boots and leathers while the pillion only gets a helmet. It could be argued that this is fair enough when the pillion is an adult and is happy to ride in jeans, trainers and no gloves as they can make their own minds up about what they want to wear but what about when the pillion is a child?

The said rider is now picking up one of his kids from school and the only protection they get given is the spare adult helmet so if they came off this is probably next to useless anyway. Is it better to have a word with the rider or just let him get on with it?”
