Motorcycle race fans enjoyed a MotoGP treat yesterday evening as renowned Eurosport commentating duo Toby Moody and Julian Ryder visited Blade Motorcycles in Elgin Drive.

With just over one week before the 2013 MotoGP season kicks off at Losail in Qatar, Moody and Ryder will once again anchor Eurosport’s comprehensive coverage of the Blue Riband motorcycle racing series.

Topics of discussion during the evening included Valentino Rossi’s return to Yamaha, following two disastrous years at Ducati, and the prospects of Honda’s new young gun, Spaniard Marc Marquez, who has replaced two-time world champion Casey Stoner, who retired at the end of the 2012 season.

Not surprisingly, the MotoGP evening at Blade Motorcycles was a sell-out event as guests enjoyed an informal meet and greet with the commentary duo, as well as sustenance from a welcome and warming chilli con carne, all for the eminently reasonable price of £5.

“We love evenings like these,” said Toby Moody with characteristic enthusiasm. “They give us a welcome chance to meet the fans who listen to our ramblings each MotoGP weekend and find out what issues they’re debating with their mates! It’s been great to join in those debates here at Blade’s fantastic showroom.”

Chris Waldron, group general manager for Blade Motorcycles, added: “It was a great night and we were delighted to welcome Toby and Julian to our Elgin Drive showroom. We’re also very happy that the imminent return of MotoGP to our TV screens will signify the start of another fantastic motorcycling summer!”
