Bike of the Day: 1994 Ducati 900SS

Bread and butter, old-school, air-cooled Ducati sportster was arguably the bike that turned the Bologna marque around in the early ‘90s thanks to the pioneering use of Japanese Showa and Mikuni components to improve reliability.

Best of the breed (there were 600, 750 and even Japan only 400cc versions, many in full and half-faired varients) was this 900SS (although the limited edition Superlight 900SL is better still) which is now starting to be considered something of a modern classic. This one’s about as good as they come: mostly original, low(ish) mileage (14K), fully-faired and, crucially, red.
