Just 35 men have won the prestigious MCN Man of the Year award, which has been presented every year since 1958. Now, as part of MCN’s 60th anniversary celebrations, it’s your chance to decide who is the greatest of them all.

MCN Man Of The Year: Essential Facts

  • Ron and Leon Haslam are the only father and son to win the award (Ron won it in 1981 and Leon in 2006)
  • Only six non-Brits have won the award – Giacomo Agostini, Helmut Fath, Wayne Gardner, Colin Edwards, Valentino Rossi and Marco Simoncelli
  • The only time the Man of the Year trophy was awarded jointly was to sidecar pairing Steve Webster and Tony Hewitt in 1987 and 1988
  • The longest period between wins was 11 years. Mike Hailwood took the award in 1967 and then again in 1978 (as well as winning it in 1961 and 1963)
  • The only motocross riders to win have been Dave Thorpe, Dave Bickers and Jeff Smith.
  • The only Speedway rider to win the award is Tai Woffinden (2013 and 2014)
