Lampkin tackles the TT... on his back wheel!

Trials legend Dougie Lampkin will be filmed live as he attempts to wheelie the entire length of the Isle of Man TT course on a modified trials bike next month.

The 12-times world trials champion will be broadcast live on Red Bull TV as he rides inside a rolling road block around the Mountain course on the back wheel of a Vertigo 300cc two-stroke trials bike on September 24. The attempt will set off from the TT Grandstand on that day and will follow the entire 37.73-mile TT course.

It’s expected the attempt will take around two hours to complete and the whole thing will be broadcast live throughout by Red Bull.

Mods to the bike include different brakes and a larger fuel tank with enough gas to get Lampkin around the full distance non-stop at an expected 20mph average speed.

It’s not the first time a bike has been wheelied around the challenging undulations of the TT course. Back in the late 70s stunt rider turned charity campaigner the late Dave Taylor – aka The Wheelie King – successfully took on the challenge.
