Motorcycle racing legends from days past took to the Silverstone circuit on Sunday to commemorate 40 years since Barry Sheene’s first world championship title in 1976.

Among the riders taking part were Colin Edwards, Paul Smart, Graeme Crosby, Simon Crafar, Randy Mamola, Mick Doohan and Niall Mackenzie, all aboard historic machines from motorcycle Grand Prix racing.

The bikes on track spanned several eras, with several of Sheene’s bikes being ridden as well as GP bikes from the ’80s and ’90s.
