Voting starts today to decide the Harley-Davidson Battle of the Kings custom bike champion for 2017.

Now in its third year, a total of 220 Harley-Davidson dealers across 21 countries are competing to take the title – including 31 dealerships from across the UK and Ireland.

TOP STORIES

Each participating dealership has created their own road legal custom bike from any of Harley’s Dark Custom Sportster models, choosing from an Iron 883, Forty-Eight or a Roadster to customise.

People can vote for their favourite creations online until February 14 at www.h-d.com/battleofthekings. A final shortlist will be created from these votes and the overall UK winner will be decided by a judging panel at the Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show in February.

The winning UK bike and builder will then be entered into the Battle of the Kings grand final and the overall 2017 champion will be decided at the EICMA show in Milan in November.

A special Dark Custom event was held on Saturday January 14 at all UK and Ireland Harley-Davidson showrooms to allow customers to see their local dealer’s entry in the flesh.

Each of the custom builds had to be created within a maximum retail price. For the Iron 883 this was £12,995 and £14,995 for the Forty-Eight and the Roadster and a minimum of 50% of the value of the custom parts used had to be from Harley-Davidson.
