Z750 debuts on track

Sat in the MCN office at 4.15pm on Wednesday night (August 11) my heart was pounding and my palms were sweaty - as they always are before I embark on a track day.

Last night I attended the California superbikes track evening at Rockingham, and this was the first track outing for the Kawasaki Z750, all my other track days had been on my VFR400R NC30, so I was a little apprehensive to how I would get on.

But there were no need for concerns, the 'Z' handled really well even over the bumpier sections of the circuit, and was quick in a straight line. Since adding the Scorpion 'DB Killer' exhaust the 'Z' is now making 107bhp and that was put to full use on the track.

Discuss this bike

The Pirelli Diablos were great and never showed any signs of losing grip. The only draw back was the brakes, as they got hotter they seemed to lose stopping power.

But on the whole I had a great evening and was surprised how well this naked bike performed on the track.
