VFR1200F first ride blog: The night before the first test of the VFR1200F

Published: 21 October 2009

MCN's Andy Downes will be testing the new VFR1200F in Japan later this week. He will be posting regular updates of his experiences.

'I've just finished a 17 hour day at the Tokyo Motor Show and about to go to bed in a hotel In Sendai - on the north east coast of Japan and about 250 miles north of Tokyo after getting a Shinkansen Bullet Train up here this evening.

Had an amazing meal in a local Japanses restaurant and was served (and ate) everything from chiken hearts to beef tongue and lots and lots of sushi and sashimi. I loved every bit of it.

Tomorrow is another early start but I don't care because I will be riding the new VFR1200F on track at Sugo racetrack for three sessions and then I get another two sessions on the Dual Clutch Transmission bike - to say I am excited is a massive understatement.

Got to get some sleep but keep checking back as I will update on here just as soon as I possibly can get some time on the bike to let people know what it's all about.

Goodnight.

Andy Downes'
