Aside from a few minor parts the 2011 GSX-R600 is completely new. It’s a massive 9kg lighter, has lighter engine internals and a higher compression ratio. It also has a close-ratio gearbox, Showa Big Piston Forks (BPF), Brembo monobloc brakes, a new frame, swingarm, bodywork, clocks, shock, wheels and exhaust.
Our performance testing data shows that it's a massive step forward from the old model - watch the video to see it going flat out at Bruntingthorpe.
In this week's MCN, on sale Wednesday 19 Jan, you can read the full old v new speed data table, plus we take the 2011 GSX-R600 and its supersport competition to the south of France for an exhaustive test.
