MCN’s Chief Road Tester Trevor Franklin has just arrived in Seville, Spain for the launch of Honda’s eagerly-anticipated new CBR600F.
The new Honda middleweight not only revives the legendary CBR600F name, which was a UK best-seller, ruling the middleweight roost throughout the ‘90s, it looks set to deliver an equally attractive ‘real world’ blend of road sports performance, easy manners, practicality and value. Honda announced the CBR’s price at £7055 last week.

But while Franklin is waiting for his turn to ride the new middleweight Honda, he managed to get a sneak look at a factory accessorised CBR600F ABS hours before the official presentation of the bike.
“Quite simply Honda knows how to build a bike that attracts infectious interest – the new CBR600F ABS is one of those bikes. In the flesh the bike looks so much better; compact, clean lines and decent build quality.
“And then there’s Honda’s perfect-fit, colour-matched bolt-ons that lift the bike’s sporty nature a shade higher. Rear hugger, undertray, single-seat converter and a 34mm taller screen are simple but brilliant add-ons.”
