Two new Harleys launched

MCN is at the launch of two new Harley-Davidsons in Marseille, France.

The Breakout is an ‘evolution’ of the Softail range, and sits in between the existing Slim and Fatboy models in price, at £15,695.

First impression are its ‘evolved’ in a similar sense to sharks: it’s been around for millions of years but has changed little.

It has the same chassis and 1690cc V-twin engine as the existing models but new wheels, forks and styling, including the mudguards and handlebars. It’s available from May.

The Street Bob Limited is a special edition.

It’s similar to the standard Stree Bob but with a bigger 1690cc engine instead of 1580cc. It’s also been given red wheel rims and paint detailing, and ABS as standard.

It costs £11,445, £950 more than the standard one, and arrived at dealers at the weekend. There are only 500 for the whole of Europe so anyone who wants one better be quick.

Read the full report in MCN on April 3.
