First ride: 2015 BMW F800R

Published: 05 February 2015

BMW's revamped for 2015 F 800 R parallel twin is currently being put through its paces in sunny Almeria by MCN's Andy Davidson. This is what he has to say about the updated roadster.

"BMW has decided to freshen up its already popular F800R naked road bike for 2015 by giving it a power increase, new suspension, foot pegs, bars and a few cosmetic tweaks for good measure.

"The first thing any BMW aficionado will notice is the new lamp – the old, assymetrical, ‘squint-eyed’ twin beams have been replaced with a single unit. Other styling tweaks include new bars, colour options and radiator and side panels. The seat height has been dropped by 10mm to 790mm and it also gets new foot pegs, perfect for shorter riders like myself."

Power is up from 87bhp to 90bhp while torque stays the same. First and second gear ratios have been modified and BMW has swapped the telescopic suspension in favour of a more modern USD fork."The standard model is priced at £7595. BMW also offer touring, comfort and sport packages as optional extras.”
