More pictures of V-Strom from its official launch

We’ve already revealed spyshots and first detail pictures of Suzuki’s V-Strom, now we’re adding more shots direct from the official launch in Paris.

While Suzuki is making no power claim for the bike, we believe it will make 108bhp from its TL-based V-twin engine. It comes with the same dual throttle level system as found on the firm’s GSX-Rs and it has a catalytic convertor to keep ahead of current and future environmental demands.

It will be priced at about the same as a Honda Varadero.

South African motocross star Greg Albertyn attended the launch in Paris in khakis, and the ladies joining him were costumed on a jungle theme. Not that we’re complaining.

The bike will be available in black, blue and yellow.

COMPARE IT TO THE NEW TDM900 or any of the other bikes of 2002 by selecting LATEST ON NEW BIKES from the menu, top, left.

Other launches expected at the Paris Show include the official unveiling of the ZZ-R1200 from Kawasaki (you can already see pictures of that in LATEST ON NEW BIKES) and of the Boxer Voxan VB2. We’ll also get a decision from Aprilia on whether or not the Blue Marlin will be put into production.
