Ducati has listened to calls from racers riding its 999 and announced a series of changes to the bike for 2005 that will see a new upper fairing and more powerful engine.

The 999R will feature a new upper fairing that loses the top air vents. The bike has been plagued by high seed instability and it is thought that these vents were the main part of the problem.

It will also get a much more powerful engine with peak power up to 150bhp from this years 139bhp.
