Bikes boom abroad

1 of 1

Motorcycle use is booming in India, as Bajaj Autos, the second-largest bike firm, announces 76 per cent growth for May, 2005 alone.

A total of 153973 two-wheelers were sold in May alone, up from 87,663 in May 2004. The company also saw an increase in the last finacial year, selling a total of 1449710 motorbikes. It’s also the top exporter of bikes from India, with 130945 machines heading overseas.

If exports can mirror domestic sales, could we be seeing a lot more Bajaj machines in the UK in the years to come?
