Buell's 2007 range

1 of 1

The 2007 Buell range gains a new model for Europe with the XB12Scg Lightning, plus a range of upgrades for the rest of the range.

The XB12Scg is designed for riders with a shorter legs, with a 93mm lower seat height than the standard Lightning. The shortened front and rear suspension and reshaped seat give a seat height of 726mm, but the handling should be the same as the rest of the range with the same chassis and 1320mm wheelbase, plus power from the 1203 V-Twin Thunderstorm motor.

It will be available in Midnight Black with Black wheels, or with the airbox cover and flyscreen in Translucent Valencia Orange with Amber wheels, or Translucent Cherry Bomb Red with matching wheels. In every case the frame will be Graphite Grey with Midnight Black front fender and chin spoiler. As standard it will make 100hp at 6000rpm.

As with the rest of the 2007 Lightning range, it will come with the Pirelli Diablo T tyres as standard, with the lone exception of the CityX, which comes wearing Pirelli’s Scorpion Syncs. The XB12S also benefits from the new Cherry Bomb Translucent Red colour, and all Lightnings get the Midnight Black option.

The XB12R also gets a new option of Sunfire Yellow, and a revised airbox design to increase airflow to the engine. For the rest of the Buell range, see page two.

The Buell Ulysses has been overhauled for 2007 with a new seat design which reduces the height by 33m to 808mm. It’s also narrower at the front, and the seams on the side have been removed for comfort and durability.

Like the Lightning CityX, it now comes on Pirelli Scoprion Sync tyres, while revised front fork sprins should improve handling and reduce fork-dive under braking.

A revised airbox cover optimises air flow without affecting intake noise, and a new tall windscreen is available which stands four inches taller than the stock item. The colour options will be Barricade orange or Midnight Black bodywork.
