KTM's 690SM launch

1 of 1

KTM is launching its brand new 690 Supermoto in Spain and Road Tester Adam Child is on hand to give his first impressions:

The 690SM is an entirely new bike from the Austrian manufacturer, which was the first to mass produce supermoto-style bikes back in the early 90s.

The all new motor is really impressive and has 20 per cent more power than the 660 it replaces.

And although the bike has been designed more for the street than the track it still has racing potential and is great fun.

The 690 is not as radical as previous KTM supermotos, is much easier to live with and is more comparable to Yamaha’s XT660 – but far sharper.

Our full test will be in next week’s MCN, available to buy from Wednesday, March 14, 2007.
