Street triple seen at Triumph factory!

I took a tour of the Triumph factory today and saw the new 675 Street Triple!

It was lined up with other finished models close to the final packing stage in the factory. I was stood to the rear of the bike, within a metre. The bike was bright green in colour and was marked up Street Triple on the rear bodywork.

It had a small cockpit fairing, a swingarm that looked the same as the 675’s, gold USD forks, fairly flat bars and twin cans, which were more round than the Speed Triple’s oval ones.

Otherwise it was very similar to the 1050 Speed Triple and looked fantastic. The tour guide said it would be in the shops July and would be detuned compared to the Daytona.

I couldn’t sneak a photo! I will be testing one as soon as they come out, looking to trade my 2006 Sprint in for something a bit more exciting. Having ridden a 675 Daytona and being very impressed with the engine, but not liking the poor comfort the Street Triple may be the ideal solution with its more upright riding position.
