Vote: Should new BMW G650GS single come to UK

1 of 1

BMW is considering bringing the new the G650GS to the UK market if it thinks there is strong enough demand.

The new motorcycle is largely the same as the F650GS which was discontinued at the end of 2007 to make way for the new F650GS (actually an 800cc parallel twin), but instead of the ancient Rotax engine that powered the old bike, the G650GS gets the newer single-cylinder engine built in China for the rest of the newer G650 range.

The UK isn’t currently one of the markets getting the bike, but a BMW Motorrad UK spokeman told motorcyclenews.com: “It’s currently under consideration, we’re looking at whether it’s suitable for the UK market. We’d welcome any feedback.”

It’s expected UK pricing would put the G650GS as the cheapest bike in the BMW range, undercutting the current entry level G650 XCountry which sells for £4991.
