2010 Ducati 1098 Multistrada spotted with panniers

Ducati’s 1098-engined Multistrada replacement has been spotted testing in public yet again – this time with panniers fitted.

This picture from motoblog.it shows the new adventure-style machine in the ‘S’ spec with higher-spec Ohlins forks and carbon body parts – the standard, lower priced machine will come with Marzocchi forks and plastic panels.

A set of hard panniers and a top box are fitted to this disguised test bike – these will be offered as accessories rather than standard fit.

The engine is known to be a detuned version of the Ducati 1098 superbike engine with a claimed 140bhp (the superbike had 160bhp), and a chassis designed to mix Ducati’s sporting values with comfort and practicality – think of it as a practical superbike rather than a true adventure machine.

The bike will be released at the Milan show in November.
