A new Café Racer version of Norton’s eagerly-awaited new Commando 961 is set to be one of the stars of the Birmingham NEC Show in November.
Based on the existing Commando 961 SE roadster, which goes into limited production this month and will also be one of the stars on the Norton stand at the show, the new Café Racer will be publicly unveiled on preview day, Friday 27th November.
The Café Racer, which MCN has already seen in prototype form, is a sportier version of the Commando, with lower, clip-on bars and related, detail modifications.
Norton will also be displaying the NRV588 rotary race bike aboard which company chief Stuart Garner recently logged over 180mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA.
Garner said: “We are very excited to be back (at the NEC)! The UK is an important market for us globally and the NEC bike show has a massive and deeply knowledgeable audience, there is nowhere else we’d rather be launching!”
This year’s NEC show runs between Friday 27th November and Sunday 6th December.
