Ducati Multistrada 1200 impresses MCN readers

The new Ducati Multistrada 1200 continues to impress MCN readers, though not everyone is convinced by the high-tech V-twin.

The bike – particularly the Touring model with semi-active suspension – drew big crowds at the Carole Nash MCN Show.

Craig Bradford, 45, Waddesdon, owns a Kawasaki Z750S:
“The mixture of performance and practicality really appeals to me. It’s just got a whole lot of everything that I would like on a bike and it’s seriously tempting. I was worried I wouldn’t fit being 5ft 8in but I’m fine.”

Alan Pearce, 53, Plymouth, owns BMW R100RS:
“I’ve test ridden the BMW R1200GS and it doesn’t appeal because it’s too heavy. The Multistrada has the looks, the weight and the overall package. I live in the West County and having good fuel range is important. I want to test ride one and as long as I like it I’ll have one in red in touring spec.”

Lee Howard, 56, Aylesbury, owns a Yamaha XJ600 and Honda VFR800:
“I don’t like this sort of bike really, it’s not my type of  thing but I really like the look of this one. My wife doesn’t like it though so that means I won’t be getting one!”

Jamie Howard, 28, Aylesbury, owns a Honda Transalp:
“I love the BMW R1200GS in terms of the looks and I can get a GS kitted out with all the gear for the same cost as the Multistrada so it would be that choice for me. It’s the looks that count.”
