Travel insurance biker discrimination

I recently went on holiday to Gran Caneria and hired a motorbike for two days to tour the island and I had a great couple of days.

But it turns out that if I had injured myself on it my Direct Line Single Trip Travel Policy would not payout a claim as the bike was greater than 125cc.

There is no wording in the policy that suggests that at all. I only rang them as I was reading a Thomas Cook info booklet after the holiday which the tour operator advised that motorcycles are not hired on holiday due to safety reasons.

Any size of car can be hired without the travel policy having an exclusion, so another example of bikers being discriminated against.

Direct Line advised me just now, that to ride motorbikes over 125cc on holiday you should take out a specialist travel insurance policy!
