Triumph Tiger 800 spotted in high-speed track tests

These new pictures show Triumph’s new Tiger 800 taking part in final high-speed track tests weeks before the bike is officially launched.

The bike was circulating the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire at the same time as an MCN road test was taking place, and our photographer took this series of pictures as the test rider hammered the bike round.

The bike seen is wired up with data-recording equipment, carried in the tail pack. It appears the bike is complete bar final colours and graphics.

The bike here is the road bike with a 19” front rim – the off-road version will be distinguished with wire wheels in a 21” front size and knobbly tyres, plus a ‘beak’ mudguard on the nose.

Our man on the scene reported that the bike was travelling at serious speed – not only in a straight line, but through Bruntingthorpe’s rough corners the bike soaked up bumps and kept tyres gripping, and it also appeared to have strong torque out of slower corners, which should bode well for owners wanting to carry luggage and passengers.
