Will Suzuki's new middleweight live up to its own hype?

Suzuki has released yet more (blurred) teaser pics of its new ‘middleweight motorcycle’ – almost certainly a new V-Strom 650. Something about the way Suzuki is drip-feeding these images suggests a huge amount of confidence that the bike is going to make a big splash – or that they’re a bit more excited about the bike than we yet have reason to be.

So far, so conventional – there’s no crazy front end, evil new headlight or hint at whizz-bang electronics. And it’s pitching into a market being hoovered up by Triumph’s Tiger 800 and BMW’s F800GS. But if it’s as practical and reasonably-priced a stab at the adventure bike market as signs are looking, it could be a strong seller.
