Terblanche Norton sketches revealed

1 of 3

Just three months after starting work at Norton, legendary bike designer Pierre Terblanche has opened his sketch book to give a tantalising glimpse into possible future bikes from the British firm.

Terblanche has been the man behind some of the most famous designs in bikes; from the Ducati Supermono, Hypermotard, 999 and original Multistrada through to the recent Moto Guzzi concept bikes shown in 2009. He has spent the past three months working out where Norton goes after the company was returned to British ownership in 2009 by business man Stuart Garner.

None of the sketches MCN has been granted exclusive access to are confirmed for production; indeed the cruiser-style bike is a likely to be little more than a flight of fancy but it does give an indication that the British firm wants to be seen as more than just a retro brand. All of the design here use the existing 961 parallel-twin motor from the current Commando 961.
