These world exclusive spy shots clearly show for the first time the all-new BMW R1250GS features the biggest single overhaul of the massive-selling and class-leading bike in its 30 years with a new water-cooled engine.
This is the biggest change to the GS in current form since the bike was given a new engine with the arrival of the R1100GS back in 1994.
Two test bikes were snapped undergoing road endurance testing by a professional spy photographer who wants to keep the location a secret. He had been tracking the test team for days in order to secure these pin sharp images which are the most revealing yet seen of the bike BMW hopes will be enough to keep the bike at the top of the adventure bike class.
The spy shots are so good we can see clear evidence for the first time the BMW Boxer’s new engine has water cooling for the first time with two radiators hidden up inside the side fairings.
Handily for us, BMW has confirmed the advent of water-cooling with a “Liquid Cooling” badge on the cylinder head! Which was very nice of them.
