MCN exclusively showed you the first official sketch of the all-new Rivale last week, and this week we can bring you the first photos of the finished bike.
Weighing in at 170kg, and doling out 125bhp, the new Rivale 800 looks to have the measure of Ducati’s new Hypermotard if the claimed figures are to be believed.
The minimalist bodywork is also a clue to how impractical the new offering is intended to be – designed purely for aggressive street rides and go-kart track action.
Beyond a pair of mudguards, side panels and a fuel tank, there’s nothing to it. The rear end gets Diavel style floating blade lights, while the headlamp is an LED unit.
The Ducati styling cues continue with the handguard-mounted front indicators and foldaway mirrors (now dropped from the 2013 Hypermotard).
The Rivale will retail in Italy for €10,990 (£8802) – but we have no confirmed UK price yet.
