Kawasaki Z1000SX updated for 2014

Kawasaki’s popular sports-tourer, the Z1000SX, is to receive a host of significant updates for 2014, the Japanese firm has announced.

Not only does it get a new, bespoke, colour-coded optional pannier system, there’s also a raft of metal finish updates and the addition of three-way traction control and two switchable power modes.

Other changes include the addition of a remote rear shock preload adjuster and a host of subtle mods to the engine, exhaust and airbox to slightly improve performance and responsiveness.

The panniers, at 28 litres each, are big enough to hold a full-face helmet and yet are much more integrated into the machine.

See next week’s MCN for full details. Full test also coming in MCN soon.
