Joining the Rocket X in getting an dark and moody makeover is the special edition Thunderbird Nightstorm, which gets what the firm describes as a ‘ghost flames’ paint scheme, comprising all-black exhausts, handlebars, levers and anything else the factory could find that they could paint black. The overall effect is a menacing machine, while beneath the cloak of darkness the 1699cc parallel-twin motor, chassis and running fear remain unchanged.
